Skid Control

This half-day course teaches drivers to regain control of a skidding car. Expert instructors blend classroom theory and practical experience in specially adapted BMW 3 series vehicles. Drivers are taught to recognise the warning signs of a car about to lose grip and are then instructed in the driving technique used to regain control. As well as learning valuable driving skills the drivers will also have the opportunity to join in some light-hearted competitions to test their new skills. Competency certificates are awarded along with a trophy for the best driver.

This skid control training is especially relevant in view of the recent legislation regarding corporate manslaughter. Company directors can now be held liable if, for example, one of their company car drivers is involved in a fatal car crash. However, by providing relevant training, like courses in skid control, employers can prove that they have taken precautionary action against such unfortunate eventualities.

In some countries, Sweden for example, skid control training is a compulsory part of the driving license and many motoring organisations in this country think such training would be valuable.
